Anxiety & Stress Relief –  Passion Flower, Impatiens & Lemon Balm

Feeling distracted, “wired”, and unable to fall asleep at night, passionflower can offer you relief. Passionflower is a nervine – it has direct effects on the nervous system without the side effects.

Ingredients:

  • Passion Flower – Scientists believe passionflower works by increasing levels of a chemical called gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. GABA lowers the activity of some brain cells, making you feel more relaxed.
  • Lemon Balm – a plant with multiple properties: can ease anxiety and insomnia especially related to nervous tension. Lemon balm is said to soothe symptoms of stress, help you to relax, and boost your mood.
  • Impatiens – Its calming properties come from its 2-methoxy-1,4-naphthoquinone compounds which may reduce nervousness, anxiousness, and restlessness.

Dosage: 4 – 6 ml as needed.

If you are currently being treated with sedatives or other anti-anxiety or depression medications which can make you drowsy, you should talk to your health care provider.

We believe that Mother Nature has all the healing we need.

Herbal tinctures can be taken alone or mixed with other liquids like water, tea, or juice. They can effectively help with anxiety, panic attacks, and stress management. Herbal tinctures can support overall health and well-being.

This tincture is a blend of three herbs that are traditionally used to promote relaxation and calmness. Lemon balm is known for its uplifting and mood-boosting properties, impatiens is helpful for easing anxiety and stress, and passionflower is a natural sedative.

Here is a more detailed description of each herb:

  1. Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a member of the mint family and has a refreshing, lemony scent. It has been used for centuries to treat anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
  2. Impatiens (Impatiens glandulifera) is a flowering plant that is native to Europe and Asia. It has been used traditionally to treat anxiety, stress, and headaches.
  3. Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) is a vine that is native to North and South America. It has been used traditionally to treat anxiety, insomnia, and seizures.

This tincture can be taken by mouth or applied topically. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional before taking this or any other herbal supplement.

Are Tinctures and Extracts Effective?

Our bodies absorb and use about 98% of herbal extracts/tinctures but only about 50% of capsules and tablets. Tinctures are far more potent due to the large concentration of herbs in a smaller dose.  Whether preparing a tincture or an extract depends on the plant and whether the leaves, flowers, root or fruit is being used. We use the old-fashioned cold process method which is time-consuming but well worth it.  The difference between a tincture and an extract is that tinctures are always made with alcohol as the solvent. Any other solvent used, the preparation is an extract, not a tincture

If you are taking any prescription medications, it's important to check for potential interactions with herbs.
